I'm not sure if anyone is actually reading these, or if maybe you need to have been here to appreciate them, but we definitely get a kick out of them:
(We just finished eating breakfast, DJ, Kathy, and Patricia sitting at the table)
Patricia: Well, I will clean these dishes up so that you two can be off to school.
DJ: No school today.
Patricia: Well that's nice isn't it.
(All talking about traveling)
Kathy: The first time my parents left the country was when they flew over to visit me in Russia.
Patricia: Oh, they manned the plane themselves?
Kathy: Well, no, but they did manage to get on the plane.
(Patricia is sitting down to have tea)
Kathy: Would you like some milk in your tea?
Patricia: No, I think this kind of tea can't take milk. Let me see.
(sips newly poured boiling tea, with warning of course!)
Patricia: Yes, it's much too acidic for milk.
Kathy: OK, so no milk then.
Patricia: Well YES OF COURSE I need milk, it's much too hot to drink otherwise.
(DJ and Patricia sitting at the table)
Patricia: Oh my, are we eating that? (pointing to plates on top of the dog house) There are flies ALL OVER it, we should shoo them off!
DJ: No, that's the old cat food from this morning... we are not eating that.
I laughed at the previous ones and am laughing at these too. I just didn't comment because although it is funny, it is also sort of sad. At least Patricia seems cheerful, and not sensitive about being corrected.
ReplyDeleteIf you post more I will read them, and laugh!
I think the milk in tea one is my favorite... It made me snort!
