The pet parrots... can't remember what kind, but they are native to NZ, and full of personality!!
Mr. and Mrs. Pu... In Mauri these ducks are called "Putakitaki" ducks Pu for short. In English people call them Paradise ducks. They hung around ALL the time. We called them the duck alarms because as soon as they would see you coming out of the smallest corner of their eyes they would start screaming their familiar squawk.

A Canterbury Gecko. Paul says they are not commonly seen so we were lucky to spot this one! There is also a rare "Jeweled Gecko" in the reserve, but we did not get a glimpse of them.
