Wairuna Organic Farm, Clinton, NZ

Weeding sweet weeding. At least it's sunny out, and there are lots of good people around.

This is an herb circle that we are weeding... well, I am taking pictures, and they are weeding.

Harvest! Some array of turnips, a beet, and a german cabbagey thing...

BIG TURNIP

Sorting and boxing for the farm market.

The Hilton @ Wairuna. Only 4 1/2 hours of work per night! No cash needed :)

All meals included too! This is our 4pm lunch.

Angie. He was sassy (aka Bite-y). Yes... Angie the boy.

Interior of the Hilton... Or as we nicknamed it "The cradle of filth".

All that stuff hanging from the ceiling is dried garlic. They have to hang it in an insulated enclosure so that the dew doesn't drip on it and it doesn't rot... So I guess we don't have to worry about vampires.

Our new parking sp... er... home.

This one never made it out. Now it is a permanent volunteer housing... truck.

The fields at sunset.

  2. looks great. Nice accomodations and good food. The Hilton looks like a cave with all the garlic hanging. Did you know you can eat the garlic scapes too? they are sold at the farmer's market here in the spring and are so yummy and fun to cook with!
